The Art of Effective Planning

By Posted on 1 2 m read

Effective planning is an integral part of those who have done well in life. Name them, Ava Duvernay, Oprah, Serena Williams … the list goes on. For me, it goes a long way in keeping me in check and my life organized.

That’s why in this week long, collaboration alongside Chioma of YhItsChioma and Debs of DebWritesBlog, the focus is on work outfits and this is the first installment of the series, this particular look is Tuesday outfit inspiration.

Let’s cast our gazes to the power of well thought out plans. To avoid overwhelming oneself, it helps to asses the reality of things while contrasting them with the targets you’ve set for yourself. That way, you can avoid chaotic outcomes.

Unrealistic plans will end up falling through sometimes and you’ll find yourself stuck at ground zero. That’s not necessarily how it ends most times though. As a fashion and lifestyle blogger, sometimes I honestly get overwhelmed because of bad planning.

For this shoot, communication, which is one of the most integral elements of effective planning, came to the fore. As is the case with collaborative objects, a lot of variables are in the mix and a lot can change in an instant. Flexibility becomes necessary to accommodate these changes too (we sure did postpone a lot! Lol).

I opted for this purple Calvin Klein blazer because it’s such a pretty color and I love the fact that it has a zipper as opposed to regular buttons. For the white pants, they’re from Shop Maju. They fit so well and the fabric they’re made of is oh-so-amazing! The shoes are from Just Fab (at this point, I expect you to know how loyal I am to them, lol). They are white ankle strap sandals with the prettiest details.

The shoot took place at the Mustard Restaurant Wuse 2, located in Valley Shopping Mall Konoko Street. It’s a restaurant and bar. The food is really yummy (we had chicken and chips) and I can say if you are looking for a nice affordable place to eat you should check it out. If it’s just somewhere to chill, then this place is a great place too.
